Nursery rhymes.

Before i crack my head for real from all the paperwork, i should just make a new post, shouldn't i. So here's something that has been buggin' my mind.

You know when we were kids, when we were so pure, protected and clean from the teeniest tiniest atom or aura of evil *when we don't even know what procrastinating is*, our parents always sing us some nursery rhymes?

And we'd always follow them from A-Z.

"Rain, rain.. Go away. Come again another day!"

Or perhaps they'd sing some lullaby to make you sleep:

"Rock a bye baby, on the treetops.."

Do you think your parents know the full version of 'Rock a Bye Baby'?

Rock-a-bye baby, on the treetops,

When the wind blows, the cradle will rock,

When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall,

And down will come baby, cradle and all.

We always sing this song when we're trying to make someone asleep because, duhh, everyone knows that this song is to make someone sleepy. Even Oscar from Oscar's Oasis knows that. 

But have you ever wondered why the cradle is on a treetop in the first place? 

Have you ever thought that maybe an old witch kidnapped that kid and tries to kill the baby?

That's why she's been waiting for the wind to blow, so that the cradle will drop?

What happens to the old witch?

Is she going to find another victim?

So parents, make sure you pick the right song before you sing it to your kids.

When i was a kid, my mom always sang some indonesian songs to me. And one of them is pretty much like 'Rock a bye baby'

Di pucuk pohon kayu yang rendang

Dua burung bersenang-senang

Yang satu bersiul si pipit

yang lain main genderang

Datang segra seorang pemburu

melepaskan peluru

betapa sedih rasa hatiku

mati kawan bermain.
