Arrogance
arrogant |ˈarəgənt|
adjectivehaving or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities : he's arrogant and opinionated | a typically arrogant assumption.
Arrogance is not showing off. Arrogance is when you feel too
good about yourself and you feel like you’re on a whole different level than
people from your surroundings.
You know, I just can’t stand arrogance. Most people develop
their arrogance when they come from a wealthy family. Some of them don’t
even come from a wealthy family. That, I don’t get.
What makes you so different than anyone else? What rights do
you possess that allows you to look down on people? Your wealth: Jerk, you
don’t even own the money! Your parents earn the money and gave ‘em to you! You
don’t even know how to earn money! Brat, I know that if I ditch you by the
roadside alone, you would just sit there and do nothing instead of trying to
survive! Frankly, I’ve met tones of other people who are much, much, much
richer than you and are soooo down to earth.
“Biar miskin harta, jangan miskin budi pekerti.”
How about that? If Allah destines your parents to go
bankrupt some day, who will you have then? You look down on people most of the
time, and sucker, do you think people will lend you a hand then?
You can go f*ck yourself and bring your so-called ‘class’
along if you don’t know how to treat people right.
UiTM has taught me a lot of things actually. And I
appreciate that. It wouldn’t have been the same if I had gone to Taylor’s or
Nottingham. Here, you can meet a lot of people from all walks of life. Start
comparing yourselves and you’ll notice that you aren’t any good from them and
yet, are so fortunate. At times, I’d feel like crying, when I notice how
fortunate I am but I’ve never been grateful enough. There are lots of people
out there who are trying to live a life and struggling to earn a penny.
The less fortunate would appreciate even a single penny
because a penny is like a dollar to them. Try dropping a coin on the floor next
to some rich kid. Do you think they would even look at it? What more picking it
up!
I had a conversation with a random student here. She went
something like this:
“
I must get all the help that I can get. I
am a Photography student. I’m not even interested in photography but that’s
what I got, so I gave it a shot. My mom is a teacher. She doesn’t earn much.
You can tell yourself, right, how much this course costs me? I’ve done a rough
calculation and I’d need more than RM10k for the camera, lenses and laptop.
Urgh, I just need money.”
It was an eye opener for me. I never knew this situation
happens in real life too. I thought it only happens in movies.
