Kuala Lumpur.
So I just
finished my three-day-two-night around KL and Selangor! (As jakun as that may
sound)
No, it’s not
like I’ve never been around KL, it’s just that I took the routes that I’d never
taken and they made me see Kuala Lumpur in a whole different perspective. And
probably because I went for the tour at night, I’ve never realized that
(putting the dangerous part aside) Kuala Lumpur is really, really pretty at
night. I had never gotten the chance to take a stroll around the city at night
because, you know, I take the public transport most of the time and the last
train to Seremban is at 11. This time around, I slept at Ema’s place and that
explains how I got the chance to take a walk around the city.
Whenever my
dad drove around Bukit Bintang at night, the street seemed like a very eerie
place to go; too crowded, too many weird people and I was just “Whoop, not
gonna come here!”
But I did the
other day with Ema and it was not so bad.
Of course, I
felt very vulnerable and insecure that I had a tight grip of my bag. Too many
people staring and there was just the two of us. If you have never gone for a
stroll down Bukit Bintang, you should probably try but make sure to bring some
boys to go with you. Anything could happen.
We decided to
get some Turkish ice cream and then we sat by the roadside, observing people.
That’s when I noticed how beautiful Kuala Lumpur is. Also, I noticed how the
people on the street struggle to earn for a living. When the weather was
alright, they were selling roses by the street. When the light went red, you
could see a school girl going to car by car, trying to sell the roses. Green
light, and she went out of sight.
Then it
started to rain heavily. We went into H&M and looked through some clothes
for a while. When it stopped raining, we went back outside and there were a
bunch of people selling umbrellas. Less than 10 minutes. Just to keep the money
coming to earn a living.
Yes, I just
noticed this side of Kuala Lumpur. More stories and pictures up soon. Thank you
for listening.
